PEI’s
Customized New Hire Training Programs are legally defensible,
specific to the agency and easy to use and understand.
CUSTOMIZED
NEW HIRE TRAINING PROGRAMS
The
primary objective of all in-service training is to produce competent
incumbents prepared to perform the duties and responsibilities of
the position with confidence and ability. In meeting this objective
an agency meets an equally important objective of reducing its potential
exposure to liability claims arising from the action/inactions of
its employees.
In order to achieve the objectives of competent
incumbents and reduced liability, an agency must have in-place a
comprehensive standardized training program that is demonstrably
job-related (valid) and that also documents what trainees were taught,
as well as documents their success in absorbing and applying the
instruction (i.e., a training performance evaluation system).
Based on a comprehensive Job Analysis Study,
PEI develops training materials and procedures which enable an agency
to standardize and validate its new hire classroom and O-J-T training
programs for telecommunicator personnel.
“Southwest Central Dispatch has an outstanding
recruit-training program, [developed in cooperation with Profile
Evaluations, Inc.], that exceeds all
published standards. The training program has thirty-three
segments and it takes approximately 300 hours to complete the program,
which covers all aspects of the job…The training program is
far more comprehensive than most other Telecommunicator training
programs.”
